Concorde 216 flew home to Bristol on November 26th 2003. It’s on loan from British Airways but the hope is that a permanent visitor centre can be funded to celebrate this remarkable piece of aviation history. At over 32.4 metres high on top of a high hill, this tower offers one of the best panoramic views of Bristol. It was built in 1897 to celebrate John Cabot’s voyage to America in 1497. There is a winding staircase that takes you to the top. Very young children may find the climb tricky but there are secure viewing areas. The gardens are great for exploring.
