Clifton Observatory and Caves,Clifton Down,Bristol.Tel: 0117 - 974 1242The Observatory houses a Camera Obscura; installed in 1829, a rotating mirror in the roof reflects the panorama outside in fine weather. From the Observatory a steep stepped passage through the gorge rock leads to a viewing platform, which gives splendid views of the Bridge and Gorge. Buggies can be left at the kiosk, which sells ices.
Open Daily: 10:30am -5pm Summer only, occasionally closed due to adverse weather, phone first.
