Cardiff Barrage Road Train
www.cardiffcats.com/roadtrain.htmlTel: 029 2070 7882 or 07792 255078 This is a fun way of visiting the Barrage with children. There's a live commentary on the land train which leaves from Stuart Street car park (opposite Harry Ramsdens) on the hour from 11am-4pm, and from the Penarth end of the Barrage at half past the hour from 11:30am-4:30pm. Pushchairs and wheelchairs can be transported. The route passes landmarks such as the Norwegian church and the Tube Visitor Centre before entering the restricted Port of Cardiff and then the Barrage area. It takes 20 minutes to reach the Barrage where there is a 10 minute stop before returning ( toilets and refreshments available ). Alternatively you could stay longer and take a later trip back by land train or boat. It's an interesting walk past the giant lock gates to Penarth Marina.
